Karen Bird

Landscape Architect (317) 263-9655 x309

Karen’s love of nature (especially old-growth forests), hiking nearly every weekend with her family and with Girl Scouts as a child, propelled her into her career. After trying multiple college majors, including English, Psychology, Wildlife Management, and Forestry, she finally settled on Landscape Architecture as a way to use her creative abilities to make beautiful and restorative places while also perserving the environment. Karen goes on twice yearly trips to NC/SC to hike the foothills and splash around the gorgeous waterfalls of western NC, and Lake Keowee, SC. She is involved in the Indiana Native Plant and Wildflower Society to help conserve and protect what we have, and help people plant more sustainable home landscapes. In her free time, Karen plays tennis in the summer and enjoys reading, sewing, jewelry making, print-making, and enameling during the winter months.
