COPPER TRACE

This project was the fourth in the development of new senior living campuses for CarDon & Associates utilizing the “household” concept. The initial development included 40 assisted living apartments and 104 skilled nursing beds. The assisted living apartments were developed in a two-story configuration and included one and two-bedroom apartments. All apartments included kitchenettes and stacked washer/ dryer units. All baths are fully-accessible with large roll-in showers. Two-bedroom apartments include two full baths.

The skilled nursing facility consists of four 26-bed households. Each household has a separate entrance for visitors and includes all resident common living spaces – dining, activities, lounge, and secure outdoor space. The various households are utilized for short-term rehabilitation, memory-care, and long-term nursing care. The households include mostly private rooms with private baths and can be utilized for any type or level of care as needs may dictate in the future.

The short-term rehabilitation household is located convenient to the therapy gym and can be expanded into an adjacent household if needed.

Separate entrances are provided for assisted living, the health center, and each skilled nursing household. Therapy is located convenient to the main health center entrance for outpatient access. The building is served by one main kitchen. Each living area, however, includes a serving/warming kitchen to ensure the best quality of food. The serving/warming kitchen for assisted living includes equipment for short order service.

The campus is master planned for the future expansion of assisted living and skilled nursing – and for the addition of independent living in the form of garden homes and apartments.
